Bean soup


• 1 cup red kidney beans
• 2 onions (chopped)
• 4 tomatoes (chopped)
• 3 garlic cloves
• 1/2 tsp. chili powder
• 1 tsp. lemon juice
• 1 tbsp. oil
• Salt according to taste

For serving

• 1 tomato (finely chopped)
• 1 green onion (sliced)
• 1 tsp. coriander leaves (chopped)
• Tomato sauce according to taste


1. Soak the beans overnight. Drain thoroughly.
2. Add the beans and 6 cups of water and cook in pressure cooker. Blend in a blender. Do not strain. Add the lemon juice.
3. Heat the oil, add the onions and cook for 3 minute.
4. Add the tomatoes, garlic, chili powder and salt and cook again for 3 minute.
5. Now add both the mixtures and serve hot with tomatoes, onions, corriander and sauce.
