Ordinary Rasam


• 1/4 cup Arhar Dal
• 1/4 tsp Tamarind paste
• 1 tsp Rasam powder
• 1/4 tsp Turmeric
• 1/4 tsp Cumin powder
• 1/4 tsp Pepper powder
• 1/2 tsp Lemon juice
• 1/2 tsp Ghee
• 2-3 Tomatoes
• 2 cups Water
• Corriander Leaves( a small bunch washed and finely chopped )
• Hing (a small pinch)
• Salt to taste

1. Cook Arhar dal with 2 cups of water and keep it aside.
2. Boil tomatoes in 1-2 cups of water, then add tamarind paste, hing,  salt, and turmeric.
3. Let it cool, blend and strain.
4. Now mix cooked Arhar Dal & tomato soup and add rasam powder, and let this boil for five minutes.
5. Heat some ghee, splutter mustard, then add pepper powder and  cumin powder to this     
6. before mixing this with the rasam.
7. Garnish  with chopped corriander leaves and serve hot.
