Carrot with greens

Ingredients
• 4 carrots
• beet with greens
• 5 - 6 leaves of Romaine or other leaf lettuce
• 3 - 4 leaves of spinach
Method
1. Peel the carrots.
2. Clean and cut beet into slender wedges, and wash & dry lettuce and spinach leaves.
3. Juice all the ingredients and enjoy.

Orange Julius

Ingredients
• 1 cup water
• 1/2 cup frozen concentrated orange juice
• 2 cups milk
• 3/4 tsp vanilla extract
• 1 tsp salt
• 2 eggs
• 5 or 6 ice cubes
Method
Mix everything in a blender and enjoy.

Julius Shakes

Serves 2
Ingredients
• 1 cup juice
• 1 cup water
• 1 egg white
• 3/4 tsp. vanilla extract
• 1/4 cup sugar
• 1 cup ice
Method
1. Blend all the ingredients with crushed ice.
2. Serve chilled.
 
Note
The egg white is to make the drink frothy. Try any juice or mix of juices to make the julius. Pineapple, strawberry, lime or cranberry are everybody’s favourite. Try mixing different kinds too.

Peach Julius

Ingredients
 
• 1 cup of fresh or frozen peach juice
• ¼ cup milk
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 2 tbsp sugar
• 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream
Method
1. Place all ingredients in a blender with 1/2 cup of crushed ice.
2. Blend until smooth.
3. Serve chilled.
Note
If the mix is too thick, add more juice or water.

• 1-1/2 cups fresh pear, peeled, cored and diced
• 3/4 cup unsweetened grapefruit juice
• 1 cup ice cubes, cracked
Method

Grapefruit Slush

Serves 2
Ingredients
• 1 large grapefruit, peeled and sectioned
• 1 cup  vanilla, orange or apricot-flavored low fat yogurt
• 2 tsp sugar
• 4 ice cubes
• fresh mint for garnish (optional)
Method
1. Blend grapefruit sections, yogurt, and sugar with crushed ice until frothy.
2. If desired to remove pulp, pour through strainer to serve.
3. Garnish with fresh mint.

Ingredients
• 2 tbsp frozen pink grapefruit juice concentrate
• 2 cups cubed watermelon (about 1-inch cubes seeds removed)
• dash of hot pepper sauce
Method
1. Place grapefruit juice concentrate, watermelon, and pepper sauce in container of electric blender. Cover and blend until pureed.

Watermelon Berry Slush

Ingredients
• 1 cup cubed seeded watermelon
• 1 cup ginger ale or lemon-lime carbonated beverage
• 2 tbsp frozen (thawed) limeade concentrate
• 1 cup frozen unsweetened strawberries
Method
1. In blender or food processor, process watermelon, carbonated beverage and limeade concentrate until liquefied. Gradually add frozen strawberries blending just until slushy.
2. Serve immediately.

Watermelon Citrus Punch

Ingredients
 
• Water melon balls
• 6 bamboo skewers
• 3 cups watermelon juice
• 2 cups grapefruit juice
• 1 cup orange juice
• 2 tbsp granulated sugar
Method
1. Thread watermelon balls on skewers; freeze.
2. In pitcher, blend watermelon juice, grapefruit juice, orange juice, and sugar until sugar is dissolved. Chill thoroughly.
