India captain Suryakumar Yadav let his actions speak first in the Asia Cup clash against Pakistan. The group-stage match on Sunday, 14 September, went ahead despite calls for a boycott in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack in April and India’s retaliatory strikes on terror camps in Pakistan. He made it a point to not shake hands with Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha at the toss in Dubai.

And when victory was secured, Suryakumar let his words carry the weight, dedicating the win to the Indian armed forces and paying tribute to the victims of the attack.

"Just wanted to say something. I think it's the perfect occasion, taking the time out, we stand by the victims of the families of the Pahalgam terror attack. We express our solidarity," the Indian captain said.
