Next week, WWE is bringing NXT back to where it all began, which is the Full Sail University. This is for a special episode titled “NXT Homecoming.” The event is shaping up to be both a reunion and a showcase, with some of the brand’s most iconic names returning to step back inside the black-and-gold ring.
Fans already got a taste of what’s to come during last night’s NXT, where the surprises came one after another. Carmelo Hayes, Tyler Breeze, Tiffany Stratton, Stephanie Vaquer, and Rhea Ripley all made shock appearances, instantly setting the internet on fire. The best part about it? Each of them will be lacing up their boots for matches on next week’s Homecoming card, giving longtime NXT fans a healthy dose of nostalgia while also connecting the past with the present.
The women’s division is also taking centre stage in a six-woman tag team bout that looks like absolute chaos just waiting to happen. Rhea Ripley, Tiffany Stratton, and Stephanie Vaquer will join forces in a powerhouse trio to take on the team of Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley, and Jazmyn Nyx.
In another marquee bout, NXT North American Champion Ethan Page will put his title on the line against the ever-popular Tyler Breeze. Breeze was one of the original pillars of NXT, and his return to Full Sail feels like the perfect homecoming moment. But Page has been building momentum as champion and won’t want to drop his belt in such a high-profile setting.
Perhaps the biggest emotional hook comes from the reunion of Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes, who will face none other than Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa. For years, DIY (Gargano and Ciampa) carried NXT with legendary matches that defined an era. They will now collide with the new generation’s heart and soul, giving fans a true dream match that bridges two of the brand’s greatest duos.
On top of the in-ring action, fans will also get a new episode of The Grayson Waller Effect, with NXT Champion Oba Femi and his #1 contender Ricky Saints as the featured guests. With Waller’s reputation stirring the pot, we wouldn't be surprised if this talk show segment turns physical in a hurry.
Let’s also not forget that Izzi Dame and Tatum Paxley of The Culling earned their shot at the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships last night after winning a three-way elimination match. They will eventually face reigning champs Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair, though the date for that clash hasn’t been announced yet.
