US Open final draws President Trump, Pep Guardiola and a sea of stars

Carlos Alcaraz triumphed over Jannik Sinner in an electrifying US Open final, claiming his second US Open title in four sets and ending Sinner’s 27-match winning streak on hard-court Grand Slams. The two modern-day greats put on another show in which Alcaraz served like a dream and outclassed Sinner to win his sixth majors title.

Alcaraz also ended Sinner’s 65-week reign as world No. 1 in men’s singles, thrilling the New York crowd with his combination of artistry and athleticism.

The hype surrounding the match was immense, drawing a star-studded crowd to Arthur Ashe Stadium. The day began with an announcement from the United States Tennis Association that the matches would be delayed due to additional security measures. “As a result of the security measures in place, and to ensure that fans have additional time to get to their seats, we have pushed the start time of today’s match to 2:30 pm ET,” the USTA stated.

Shortly afterward, President Donald Trump arrived at the stadium with his entourage, which included U.S. White House Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, and U.S. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.

STARS PRESENT AT THE US OPEN FINALS

President Trump and his whole team weren’t the only popular faces in the stands. NBA great Steph Curry, along with his wife, Ayesha Curry, were at the stands. Curry became the camera person's favourite as he enjoyed the men's singles final by not hiding his emotions in front of cameras that constantly panned on him.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola made the most of the international break to fly down to New York to catch the Sincaraz final live.

The men's singles final drew an impressive roster of high-profile attendees, including actors Ben Stiller, Courteney Cox, Danny DeVito, Michael J. Fox, and Elle Fanning. Music legends Bruce Springsteen, P!nk, Sting, and Usher were also in attendance, adding star power to the stands. The event attracted sports icons as well, with tennis greats John McEnroe, Jimmy Connors, Martina Navratilova, and Marat Safin, along with NBA superstar Steph Curry and skiing champion Lindsey Vonn.
