Pooran and Dhillon's Power Hitting

Earlier in the match, MI New York set a formidable target of 237/4, led by a blistering, unbeaten century from captain Nicholas Pooran. Pooran smashed 108 off just 60 balls, including 7 fours and 8 sixes. Tajinder Dhillon provided valuable support, hitting a rapid 95 off 35 deliveries.

Despite the onslaught, Gerald Coetzee and Kyle Mayers each took two wickets, helping the Orcas regain some control.

Orcas' Chase and Hetmyer's Brilliance

Seattle's innings began poorly, with Josh Brown and Shayan Jahangir falling early. Kyle Mayers (37 off 20) and captain Sikandar Raza (30 off 9) launched a counter-attack, bringing the chase back on track. Heinrich Klaasen added a quick 26 off 13 balls before being dismissed by Rushil Ugarkar.

This set the stage for Hetmyer's match-winning performance.

With the required run rate increasing and wickets falling, Hetmyer took charge, scoring an unbeaten 97 off just 40 balls, including 5 fours and 9 sixes, at a remarkable strike rate of 242.50.

The Decisive Final Ball

In the final over, with five runs needed for victory, Hetmyer faced Kieron Pollard. He maneuvered himself perfectly, getting inside the line of the delivery and flicking it over fine leg for a six, sealing a historic victory for the Seattle Orcas.

Hetmyer was named Player of the Match for his outstanding performance. He said, "This one is one of the best, because our backs were against the wall... Today is one of those days, where I went with a clear mind and wanted to take the game as deep as possible."
