Krafton India has revealed the roadmap for the second half of the year. Two official events will take place in different parts of the country– one domestic and the other will host international teams, Korean and Japanese.
The domestic competition, Battlegrounds Showdown 2025, was talked about earlier as well, but this is the first time since the inaugural India-Korea invitational that international teams will compete in a tournament hosted in India. Both tournaments have a prize pool of Rs 1 crore each and a chance to grab a slot for PUBG Mobile Global Championship.
Interestingly, out of most of the players who are actively playing competitive BGMI, only a few have been part of the teams that used to compete internationally in PUBG Mobile tournaments. The likes of Tanmay Singh, Jonathan Amaral, and Randeep Singh Bhullar have had international exposure. Jonathan is a part of GodLike Esports – the team that went to play the last PMGC in 2021. Randeep, on the other hand, is currently a part of Orangutan Gaming, as the team that played on the international circuit isn’t active any more.
In a conversation with India Today, Orangutan Gaming’s in-game leader, Arman, talked about how Randeep can prove to be of the utmost importance if they are given a chance to compete on the international circuit.
“Just like how underdogs feel when they compete in the T1 circuit, Indian teams are likely to feel the same way on the international circuit. Randeep has already experienced it, and I feel this would help us. He wouldn’t feel that pressure, and it would be normal for him,” said Arman.
“Not only has he played on the international circuit, but he has also dominated it,” he added.
BMSD 2025 will begin on September 18, 2025, in Hyderabad and will pave the way for the teams for the Global Championship. The top team will get a slot in PMGC, and the top 8 teams will make it to the BGMI International Cup, where they will compete against four Korean and Japanese teams.
The top 48 teams that will be invited to the competition are the ones who have performed exceptionally well in the previous tournaments– BGIS and BMPS. The finals of BMSD 2025 will take place from October 10 to 12, 2025, in front of a live audience. BGMI International Cup 2025, on the other hand, will only be a three-day-long LAN event, which will take place from October 31 to November 2, 2025.
